biography of elly mixsell
founder of wired communications

elly mixsell is a writer, educator and strategic communicator. Her company, wired communications, helps companies achieve business objectives by developing and implementing electronic marcom initiatives.

Her online training and communications counsel have taken her to Paris, New York, Los Angeles, and throughout Texas working with clients such as IBM, Dell Computer, TXU Energy, and Omnicom companies.  She has over 20 years of experience in the field of journalism and business communication.

While her current focus is digital, elly got her start as a newspaper reporter and radio news editor. 

Her first professional job was with the Pasadena Star News. She then moved to broadcasting, serving as news director for KATA/KFMI in Eureka, California, and later in the news and public affairs divisions of KNX Newsradio, the CBS affiliate in Los Angeles.

After a switch from journalism to PR, elly increased awareness of Bob Hope Airport as a convenient alternative to LAX for travelers in the Los Angeles area.

As Director of Communications for the Los Angeles Convention and Vistors Bureau, elly maximized the LA brand using a full-range of marcom strategies.

In 1995, elly moved to Texas and launched her own brand - wired communications.  The firm capitalized on the increasing need to digital messaging.

wired communications' Fortune 500 client list includes Dell, IBM, TXU and Southwest Airlines.  She also works with a variety of smaller companies and start-ups with a focus on government, publishing, HR and healthcare.

She holds a B.A. degree is in Journalism, and is actively involved in the International Association of Business Communicators.
