biography elly mixsell is a writer, educator and strategic communicator. Her company, wired communications, helps companies achieve business objectives by developing and implementing electronic marcom initiatives. Her online training and communications counsel have taken her to Paris, New York, Los Angeles, and throughout Texas working with clients such as IBM, Dell Computer, TXU Energy, and Omnicom companies. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of journalism and business communication. While her current focus is digital, elly got her start as a newspaper reporter and radio news editor. Her first professional job was with the Pasadena Star News. She then moved to broadcasting, serving as news director for KATA/KFMI in Eureka, California, and later in the news and public affairs divisions of KNX Newsradio, the CBS affiliate in Los Angeles. She holds a B.A. degree is in Journalism, and is actively involved in the International Association of Business Communicators. elly is the Webmaster for IABC D5, and was named Member of the Year by the group for volunteer work done in 2003.
